Its origins lie in a medieval legend: a town terrorized by a dragon that demanded human sacrifices. When the princess was chosen, a knight—Sant Jordi—faced the beast and defeated it. From the dragon’s blood, a rose bush grew, and the knight offered a rose to the princess.
Over time, this story has evolved. Today, Sant Jordi is also understood as a symbol of collaboration and shared strength, where challenges are not faced alone, but together. A story that highlights trust, cooperation, and the ability to overcome adversity collectively.

This year, we have once again embraced this tradition with a simple yet meaningful gesture: offering a rose and a heart to all our employees.

This year, the initiative also carries a deeper purpose.
As we did last year, this action is part of our collaboration with the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, an organization dedicated to advancing research toward a future without Alzheimer’s.
Through this gesture, we aim to contribute—however modestly—to a cause that affects us all. Alzheimer’s impacts millions of people worldwide and challenges something essential to who we are: our memory, our experiences, and our identity.
Speaking about memory in the context of Sant Jordi is no coincidence. While the legend speaks of overcoming adversity, reality reminds us that some challenges still require research, commitment, and collective effort.
Through this initiative, NUDEC seeks to bring together a deeply rooted tradition with a cause centered on people.
